In November 2021, we launched our first ever book gifting campaign funded entirely by individual people power! Using the UK Crowdfunder platform we raised over £6000 thanks to 120 supporters. These funds enabled us to distribute a thousand books to children who need them most.
The books were distributed in two ways:
1. Working with the brilliant team at Children’s Books Ireland, hardback copies of our Illustrate This Book series were distributed to Irish Traveller communities, families in Direct Provision (Ireland’s asylum-seeker accommodation) and children experiencing homelessness.
2. Working directly with existing school networks in the UK and Berlin, copies of the paperback school edition were sent to schools in areas of socio-economic deprivation or with high numbers of pupils from low-income families.
